EXPERIENCE

Senior Graphic Designer

Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)
January 2017–present / Remote, based in Maryland

Lead the design, brand, and art direction for eight offices around the world. Closely collaborate with senior leadership to develop a strategic framework for continued brand refinement, consistency, and standardization. Mentor junior design and communications colleagues on J-PAL identity best practices, strategy, and implementation. Manage the design and implementation of organization-wide emails to 40,000+ contacts. Work with external web developers on design and user interface improvements to the J-PAL website.

Project highlight: Worked directly with J-PAL co-founders and winners of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics to design the lectures they presented during Nobel week in Sweden.

Graphic Designer

MIT's Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) / March 2015–December 2016

Used design to simplify complex economic content for a variety of audiences. Lead designer of the artwork currently featured in J-PAL's core brand materials. Developed visual identity for joint lecture series with MIT Economics Department. Designed a variety of collateral including annual reports, event materials, policy publications, data visualizations, high-level presentations, and online content.

Freelance Graphic Designer

Elizabeth Bond Design / May 2014–Present

Partners with a diverse group of nonprofit, corporate, and higher education clients to create engaging materials for print, presentations, and electronic communication. Consults with clients to define project goals and establish scope of work, budget, and timeline. Utilizes strong technical and conceptual skills to develop thoughtful, high-quality design solutions.

Clients include: Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation at University of California San Diego, Orange Grove Consulting, Stone Design Studio, Milton Academy, MIT Work of the Future Initiative, Harvard Kennedy School, and Suffolk University.

Social Media Graduate Fellow

Suffolk University Career Development Center / September 2012–August 2014

Increased and drove traffic to the career center’s website and social media pages. Collaborated with executive director and staff to improve visual impact of the marketing materials including newsletters, flyers, handouts, and event emails.
